Clay and Lime Plasters over drywall & painted walls:

New construction or renovations:  Clay & lime plasters can  be applied over interior drywall, paint & other existing wall surfaces  This requires only one thin coat of plaster.  If you are interested in a natural plaster finish...for best results...ask how to install and prepare your drywall in advance.  It is possible to apply natural plasters over conventional joint compound, but  I recommend using clay joint fillers which are more compatible with the plaster.  And sanding is not necessary.                                                      Click here to see photos...

· Avoid toxic drywall dust...It is not necessary to sand the joints,

· Be creative and express your own style with many options for the finished surface eg. Textured or smooth, chopped straw, add mica for sheen,

· Beautiful, natural wall surfaces which are unique from paint.

Finish will vary depending on your style, but typically...the surface is very hard and durable.  Clay plasters adhere very well to drywall and painted walls, it will not crack and fall off walls or be dusty.  They are longlasting and can be painted with purchased or homemade clay paints if you decide to change the color someday.
